Live Music in the Theatre at Horse + Bamboo from The Blazing Snowmen and Jack and the Black Dog
The Blazing Snowmen
Beginning life on Manchester’s alternative music scene in the early 80s, The Snowmen are a quartet who weave strong melodic songs from the stories of everyday life- adult themes of relationships/ageing/obsession/and restlessness, with influences ranging from early Bowie to Ivor Cutler – once described as Alan Bennett meets the Lancashire Doors.
Jack and the Black Dog
Jack and the Black Dog are an acoustic trio based in Manchester. Formed from the glowing embers of The Big Fish and Milkpunx, Jack & the Black Dog dig into the dark heart of skiffle, mambo and country, playing original songs of lost souls, outlaws and whisky. The band are: Henric Mattsson on drums, Phil Duncan on double bass and Ben Shirley on guitar and vocals.
