Baby Boo

Baby Boo is a relaxed, open-ended sensory play session that runs every fortnightly Thursdays.

Baby Boo

Baby Boo is Horse + Bamboo’s early years programme of work, directed by Zoe Harty and Sue Auty.

Zoe is taking the lead on our fortnightly play sessions and Sue is leading on our annual Takeover Day and Baby Boo Symposium.

Baby Boo is:

  • Fortnightly relaxed, open-ended sensory play sessions at Horse + Bamboo in Waterfoot.  The sessions run:

Thursday Morning 10am – 11.30am
Thursday Afternoon 1pm – 2.30pm

  • Baby Boo sessions across Rossendale delivered for community groups.
  • Takeover Day  is  a festival of arts and play for Early Years  which happens during Waterfoot Wakes  where we give the babies and young children the run of the building !
  • Baby Boo Symposium is an annual gathering of artists and practitioners who work with babies and young children. There are keynote speakers, networking opportunities and practical examples of using the arts with young children. An inspiring and rejuvenating day.
  • Baby Boo is a member of ‘Scribbles – Early Years Learning Network’ – a growing network of organisations and artists based across the Northwest.

Come along to Baby Boo open ended play sessions where we will explore different ways to play with all sorts of sensory materials and objects chosen to encourage your little ones to use their imaginations and to create their own worlds! We play around with environments and themes and have fun designing surroundings to play in! There is no specific format, just come along and explore at your own speed!

We will have Special sessions once a term where we invite a guest to bring something new, sometimes they will bring instruments or lead an arty crafty activity!

At Baby Boo we believe that babies and children should be given time and space to explore and play in their own way.

“Children need the freedom to appreciate the infinite resources of their hands, their eyes and their ears, the resources of forms , materials, sounds and colours.”
Loris Malaguzzi, founder of Reggio Emilia
